Still on Ko Pha Ngan. After arriving here in the rain, I spent two nights in Hat Rin, a port town geared mostly for tourists and partying. This town is the location of the famed Full Moon Parties where people come from near and far to partake in this monthly event. It was a bit too noisy to stay there for me, especially because the room I had was right next door to the bar, literally. After the two nights I moved to the western side of the island to Wog Tum Beach where there were some nice inexpensive bungalows. There I met up with the Canadian couple again and spent the last two days with. One day I did absolutely nothing. Woke up, took about ten steps to get to the beach, swam around and laid out, walked to town, played chess against myself, and watched a movie. It was quite nice. Yesterday, we rent motor bikes (I got a dirt bike), and rode around the small island visiting other beaches, towns, and waterfalls that were supposed to be really nice. After Nepal, the waterfalls only seemed like mere trickles in comparison. It was a lot of fun riding around though, especially since it was the first time I have ever ridden on a motor bike. It was kinda funny though, Thai people only had the standard mopeds, and the westerns generally opted for the more powerful, and noisy, off road bikes. Since the rental was for 24 hours, and I still had some petrol left in the tank, took the bike for a ride around the island this morning and got a chance to see some fishing boats unload their catch and sell it directly to people at the docks. That's fresh seafood! All in all, my time here in Thailand has pretty relaxing. Looking forward to Jay and Dustin coming in a few days. I think they are going to meet me here on Ko Pha Ngan to go to this Full Moon party, along with meeting some other friends of mine who will be here as well. But I've gotta take one day to make a run for the border to get a new Tourist Visa. Until next time. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
